My Sonny Boy
My Sonny Boy
He likes to play the sports
He gets so hot when he plays
He drinks water by the quarts
His tiny pores
Get gigantic
As sweat pours
From his hands and neck
His back
His feet
His head
His face
Make sweat drip
All over the place
After his games

Antique marble collecting may
be one of the most fascinating types
of hobbies there is.
The colorful 5/16 to 2 ½ inch light
catching glass or stone spheres
are awe inspiring.
They’re great for game-play—
gently if you must —and for
showcasing.
When buying antique marbles,
whether as a one time deal, or to
begin a collection, the first thing
you might want to do is...

About the Website Hostess of MyStoriesAndPoems.com...
Silly Mommy {AKA R. Renée Bembry} is a published author who has spent many years perfecting her ability to write children's stories and poems. Now she relishes in sharing that knowledge with others.
Ms. Bembry is the webmaster of this website {MyStoriesAndPoems.com} and other sites such as her first children's poetry site located at FunnyPoemsforkids.com. Ms. Bembry created these sites to encourage children to appreciate poetry because she believe it is important to keep the arts alive.
Ms. Bembry writes all the stories and poems, and sketches most of the pictures found on these websites that are directly related to the sites with the exception of poems displayed on the 'Kids' Page' at the FunnyPoemsForKids.com site, poems found on the 'Kids' Critique Page' on this site, and some of the art work that is drawn by her talented daughter.
The first poetry verse Ms. Bembry recalls writing was a piece she wrote because in her, then, twelve-year-old opinion, an author had eliminated important information from a cat poem her English class was deciphering. As far as Ms. Bembry was concerned, the poem had a much better ending after she allowed cat owners throughout the world to boast about the joyousness their cats instilled in them.
While in fifth grade, Ms. Bembry became one of a few students at her school to engage in a program teaching younger students to read.
She taught four of her own children how to read, write, and compute numbers before they went to kindergarten. Through her assistance, all of these children excelled and entered the Gifted and Talented Education program (GATE) when they became grade level eligible and they all went on to college.
In addition to teaching special children, and her own, Ms. Bembry instructed classes within and outside the realm of High School and College student status. Her published works can be found at educational website, StudyIsland.com, as well as in Marshall Cavendish textbooks, workbooks, and audio recordings. Her children's ebooks are available at Amazon.com.
For the purposes of MyStoriesAndPoem workshops, Ms. Bembry's efforts will be concentrated on reinforcing Academic Content Standards for Language Arts while teaching poems that rhyme. She happens to be partial to rhyming poetry and believes they are more fun, challenging, and rewarding for children than free verse. Children are more likely to improve their vocabulary while composing rhyming poems as the seek rhyming words to strengthen their verses.
Much of Ms. Bembry's online poetry was initially located at her first website, FunnyPoemsForKids.com but this site moved quickly to catch and surpass that site. Poems children have sent in, eager to have their work displayed, can be found on the "Kids Page" at the first site here.
