Online Workshop Materials
Materials include -
- Theme-Stories - These stories are created by MSAP for the purpose of aiding students in poetic construction. Stories provided depend on workshop grade level.
- Theme-Story Poems - These poems
- directly relate to their accompanying Theme-Stories
- provide graphs of word useage breakdowns that denote figurative language
- may contain as many as five graph pages per set depending on student grade level
- are used as aids to encourage student interest in and understanding of Language Arts
- Word Searches - Word Searches are thematic in nature and therefore relate to accompanying Theme-Stories.
- Crossword Puzzles - Crossword Puzzles are also thematic in nature and also relate to accompanying Theme-Stories.
- Word Searches & Crossword Puzzles may include students' first names.
- In order for puzzles to include names, teachers must submit class roster {first names only} to MSAP prior to MSAP emailing puzzles to teachers.
- Puzzles containing names encourage students to complete them. They're quite excited to be first to find their name and their classmates' names.
- Since the puzzles are thematic in nature, searching for their answers pushes students to recall facts occuring in Theme-Stories and to revisit their knowledge of figurative language.
Other Workshop Materials will consist of supplies required to complete crafts when the Poetry Enhanced Craft Option is selected.
